The Romantic Landscapes of Alex Ji on View at Gateway Theatre
Off-Site Exhibition Runs April 8–27, 2025
RICHMOND, BC – It is an honour for artist and educator Alex Ji (纪钧译) to have his recent works featured in the off-site exhibition The Romantic Landscapes of Alex Ji, presented by Gateway Theatre. The exhibition will be on display from April 8 to 27, 2025, at Gateway Theatre, 6500 Gilbert Rd., Richmond.
Ji’s paintings offer viewers a serene journey through gardens, valleys, and coastlines, evoking the quiet romance of nature through delicate light and vivid color. Many of his works are painted en plein air and reflect his deep reverence for the natural world. The selection of artworks resonates with the themes of spring and complements Gateway Theatre’s stage production of Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen’s beloved second novel.
“Alex Ji’s gentle, lyrical style brings a sense of peace and timelessness that pairs beautifully with the literary charm of Austen’s world,” said a representative from Gateway Theatre.
Alex Ji immigrated to Canada in 2022 and quickly became an active member of the local arts community, establishing studios in both Richmond and West Vancouver. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, and has been teaching painting since 2009. Ji has received multiple awards for his work across China, the United States, and Canada.
This exhibition is free and open to the public during Gateway Theatre’s regular hours. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy both the visual and performing arts during this vibrant spring season.
